You may already know about the Prairie Swine
\nCentre but are you familiar with all that we
\ndo? What unique characteristics and abilities
\nhave we lurking in the shadows that you know little
\nabout? Let\u2019s get reacquainted.
\nOf course we do research. It is our main
\nobjective and raison d\u2019etre but I would like to take
\nthe time to remind you about the breadth and
\nscope of our abilities. For starters unlike many
\nresearch facilities ours is large and follows standard
\ncommercial practices. We are a 330 sow farrow
\nto finish operation located just outside of the city of
\nSaskatoon. Our barn functions as a typical North
\nAmerican swine barn with typical production, for
\nexample we produce 27 pigs weaned per sow per
\nyear. So along with the usual daily challenges of
\nrunning a hog operation we add on the intricacies of
