Various configurations of<br \/>\nbiotrickling filters and bioscrubbers have been<br \/>\nstudied and showed a very good potential for<br \/>\ncontrolling emissions from pig buildings. A number<br \/>\nof operating conditions have been specified<br \/>\nfor biotrickling filters (Deshusses and Gabriel,<br \/>\n2005). Design values have been suggested for<br \/>\nbed height, bed cross-sectional area, packing<br \/>\nnominal size, empty bed residence time (EBRT),<br \/>\npressure drop, air temperature, liquid recycle<br \/>\nrate, pH of the recycled liquid, and some typical<br \/>\ncontrol parameters.
