The National Sow Housing Conversion Project (NSHCP) is a descriptive\u00a0project intended to facilitate the successful conversion of Canada\u2019s sow\u00a0barns to group housing. The project involves collaboration from industry\u00a0participants and academic researchers across Canada working together on\u00a0a comprehensive strategy involving demonstration farms and technology\u00a0transfer materials and events to support Canadian pork producers. This\u00a0report describes progress up to year 3 of this 4 year project. The project\u00a0is a collaboration between the University of Manitoba,\u00a0 Manitoba Pork\u00a0Council, CDPQ and the Prairie Swine Centre. The full project will collect\u00a0detailed information on fourteen barn sites across the country that have\u00a0implemented group sow housing. The information collected is in the form of\u00a0questionnaires, interviews, photos, videos, barn layous and production and\u00a0economic data.
