PAMI builds tanker truck injector for research and demonstration
Posted in: Prairie Swine Centre by admin on | No Comments
The objective of this project was to develop a liquid manure application system to efficiently supply swine manure research and demonstration sites throughout Saskatchewan. The best option was to develop a truck based system with a vacuum/pressure tank capable of travelling long distances. A 1994 Mack semi-trailer truck with the fifth wheel removed was customized for liquid manure injection for both low and high disturbance plots. The truck injector system was completed in the fall of 2000 and is now used for all swine manure plot research conducted by PAMI in Saskatchewan. Further discussion with Sask Pork is underway regarding expansion of this project to swine manure application demonstrations in addition to research activities.
