The GP5 neutralizing epitope and CTB were the parts of the plants that the researchers want to extract. It was found that\u00a0 plant-produced CTB-GP5NE could efficiently bind to the mucosal GM1 acceptor, demonstrating it is biologically active. Taken together these results prove that CTB-GP5NE is an excellent candidate for oral vaccine against PRRSV.
