Summary:
The current expansion of the hopg industry in Manitoba is creating some concern for rural Manitoba residents. The Manitoba Government appointed a three-person panel in June 2000 to conduct panels and town hall meetings to find out people’s attitude on livestock expansion in the province. The idea of the panel is to give people a forum to express their views, and to use it as a base to develop new ideas policies, guidelines or regulations ensuring expansion is economical and feasible.
